Colette Roe and her Nail Business
We asked Colette Roe all about her Nail “Nails by Colette Roe” business and she told us:
“I come from a retail background working in a well known Health store Holland and Barrett where I did lots of training over the years on Vitamins, minerals, supplements & wellbeing products and loved learning all things health & nutrition however I wanted to start a career in the Beauty Industry doing nails from home, I always loved doing nails and a passion for other beauty treatments plus being at home meant I could be with my son, care for my dad who lived with me and have a better lifestyle for myself and my family.
I provide nail treatment services that promote self-care and feel-good confidence from the comfort of a beautiful cabin at my home using high-quality products, I also have a Vodex Extraction system in place which promotes clean air and dust extraction while you are having your treatments with me.
Our services focus on gel polish, short to medium extensions using BIAB (Builder in a Bottle Gel) luxury manicures and pedicures.
I love my business because I get to help people feel good while promoting healthy nail growth. Using the Vodex Extraction System, I care for hands and feet. I provide comfortable surroundings and a safe environment. Finally, I also love getting to connect with clients, follow my passion and create my work and home life balance.
I genuinely want the client to have a great experience while with me. My aim is to promote a safe space for nail treatments by having a clean air system in place.
Colette Roe has great advice for others starting in their business
For others who are striving to start their businesses, do a lot of research, planning, and setting some money aside to invest in your business. Talk to and get advice from others in your industry. Learn from your mistakes, know that it will take a long time and hard work to make yourself established and if it is your passion and dream, never give up.
Like many other businesses, Covid has prevented my business from fully taking off, I have found it a struggle to remain motivated during Covid. It is also a struggle to remain organized and disciplined with my time being self-employed however it is all a work in progress and I always strive to get better than the day before.
Not giving up throughout Covid and maintaining a few loyal clients when we have been able to re-open is considered a great milestone for me.
During my free time, I used to spend time with friends and family, baking, and trying new recipes. When things reopen I would love to try paddleboarding.
