Judith Crawford and Moon Blossom Jewellery

We asked Judith Crawford all about her business Moon Blossom Jewellery

“I’ve always had an interest in jewellery. I came across a channel on TV and they carried out demos etc. At this point, I thought to myself this is meant to be. I bought beads and findings and I’ve been doing it ever since then.

I would describe my business as a fun, simple, and elegant brand of jewellery. It can be worn casually or for an evening out. I like to think that my jewellery brings a smile to people’s faces when they wear it.

My main products are necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. I’m in talks at this time to introduce gemstone carvings as part of my business.

I love being my boss and it gives me complete flexibility. I love working with and designing semi-precious and precious gemstones. It gives me complete job satisfaction and contentment.

Judith Crawford and Moon Blosoom Jewellery: Standing out from the crowd

What makes me stand out among others is that I try my best to search for the less popular semi-precious stones. I source materials from Bali to the United Kingdom. I do simple designs, however, using the not-so-known semi-precious stones makes my pieces that little bit different.

Judith’s Advice for others starting in Business

In my experience, I contacted my local council to see what advice they could give. They put me on a business start program which helped me to do a business plan etc. I would also advise that you speak to someone along the same line of business as yourself e.g jewellery making and they may be able to give you some helpful tips. To keep costs down family and friends would be more than willing I’m sure to help you out. Why just not go for it.  You will never know if you never try!

My customers find me extremely helpful and friendly. I will go the extra mile to make sure my customers are happy, if I didn’t I would be letting people down and that’s one thing I don’t like to do.

The biggest struggle I would have is social media and getting people to follow me on the lives on Facebook and Instagram and growing social media awareness.

My biggest achievement is running my own business and being my own boss.  It took me great courage to do this and I am so glad that I did. It gives me complete flexibility around my family life.

We asked Judith Crawford what she did in her spare time when she wasn’t working on Moon Blossom Jewellery.

My free time is usually spent out on the farm with my dad. It gives me time to clear my thoughts and come up with new ideas.
