KeepaBeat Paediatric First Aid classes are run all over Northern Ireland. They are taught by accredited, regulated trainers, so you can be guaranteed good quality sessions. The team consists of the two new owners, and First Aid Trainers, Vicki and Deniece, as well as an experienced first aider and a ProParamedic First Responder, and, we are all mummies!
Our Parent First Aid sessions are a must have for parents, and our Parent PLUS First Aid sessions are ideal for when your children become more mobile. You will learn many topics such as CPR, unconsciousness, choking, burns, head injuries, febrile convulsions, bleeding and broken bones to keep your baby and child safe.
KeepaBeat First Aid takes this serious subject and teaches it in a fun, interactive and memorable way so that you have that vital knowledge that could be invaluable to your family. First Aid sessions can also be held for groups at your home for those family members who may look after your baby and child, such as Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles, so please do contact us to find out more.
We offer two courses for early years practitioners:
The Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate is a 6 hour first aid training course designed for nannies, au-pairs, school support staff and voluntary workers who do not require the full 12 hour paediatric qualification.
The Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Certificateis a 12 hour first aid training course for Childminders, Early Years Practitioners, School staff, Teachers or any one wishing to complete an in depth training course. This course is in line with current EYFS 2017 guidelines and makes up the 12 hours to fulfil the current requirements.
We offer two courses for work places:
The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is a first aid training course aimed at providing employers/employees with the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations, including the ability to provide appropriate care and manage life threatening conditions, minor illness and injuries. The qualification is delivered as a one day programme of training and assessment to allow individuals be first aiders in the workplace (low risk environments). This qualification is valid for three years, after which learners will need to repeat the qualification. It is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Workis aimed at providing employers/employees with the knowledge, understanding and skills in the following areas: roles and responsibilities of the First Aider; assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness, chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis. The qualification is delivered as a three day programme of training and assessment, and we can increase the duration to meet additional learning needs if required.
We also offer FREE yearly refreshers for those who undertake any Level 3 Programme with us.
And finally we offer First Aid programmes for children (including Junior Medics, Junior Medics PLUS and Dinky Medics:
We currently offer a 2 hour programme designed to be attended with parents and a 45 minute session for schools. We teach children about ringing 999, carrying out CPR, how to carry out the choke sequence, bandage a head wound, deal with nose bleeds, amongst many other topics to give your children the confidence to act should they be in an emergency situation.
