Meet Debbie Harris from Manorqueen Beauty
Debbie Harris of Manorqueen Beauty has always loved working in retail, fashion and beauty.
She started working part time after having her 3 daughters which allowed her to keep busy while being the best mum she could be.
Debbie loves playing with makeup and skincare so when she began selling it, it didn’t feel like a job to her.
She started her online business, Manorqueen Beauty but also has a small store where local people can trial the beauty and skincare products.
All the products are natural and suitable for vegans.
As her products are sold online, Debbie has a range of customers from around the world.
Outside of this, Debbie works at a school for special needs children. One day a week she also teaches beauty lessons which the children love.
She said, “You can see how they have watched their mum do their makeup and the lesson really brightens up their day. The work they do is really good.”
Along with this, Debbie volunteered at Look Good Feel Better before covid around 2-3 times a year.
Why did Debbie join Mums At Work:
Debbie joined Mums At Work as she chooses groups that suit her best to be in. She said the group has a nice feel where you make good business contacts and gain useful advice through the members and free training.
She also never feels excluded and alwyas supported in the group.
Debbies advice for others starting business comes from a mentor of hers, “Remember to have fun.”
She said don’t get caught up and sweat the small stuff. You should enjoy the journey and remember that it is okay to start again at any age to what suits you at the time.
