Biographical Info

Hi I am Emma, founder of Learning Labyrinth. I am a mum of  two (boy 10 and girl 2) as well as 2 chihuahuas, a staffy, a rabbit and 2 giant African land snails. I would have home zoo if I had time and money 😅 I love all animals but have an irrational fear of spiders, like many people.

I decided to combine my creative flair with my lifelong love of nature to create nature themed activity boxes for children. I also host a seasonal nature club for children and make bug houses and other nature themed crafts that I sell on my website and at local fairs.  The activity boxes make great gifts for any occasion or as an alternative to magazines.

With increasing technology use encouraging us to stay indoors and the rapid decline and destruction of the natural world across the planet, I hope to inspire children to take more of an interest in nature so that they will grow up to be adults that protect and care for the earth.

Biographical Info

I am originally from Dublin and am married to Mark and we have 5 sons.

I trained and worked as a chef in Dublin, Isle of Man, and Northern Ireland. Due to Arthritis however I had to give up my work, so took some time off to raise my family. I went back to college when my youngest was one and did a Foundation degree, Bsc Food Technology Degree and have taken time out from my Msc In Business Communications to become Self Employed.

I now run Healthy Eating and Cooking workshops in the community, schools and hoping to get into the business world in the future. I love what I do and get great satisfaction from seeing how my clients confidence grows everytime they come to one of my workshops.

I work with children from 3 up, teenagers, Mens groups, women, older peoples groups. I also do one to ones and am currently helping a disabled girl become more independant so she can eventually move out of her parents home. I love advising people on how to make better choices when they are shopping, cooking and eating and my overall ainm is to improve the health and well being of all my clients.

Being Self employed has many challenges and a lot of sleepless nights but I think that being positive and getting the support that I get from Mums at Work has helped me so much knowing that other women are all going through the same things and we are all in the same boat. Hopefully the next 6 months will not be as hard as the last but I am staying positive knowing that I have all the support from my family and friends.
